Backyard Conservation Workshop
Saturday, April 26, 2025 | 9:00am - 1:30pm Venango Conservation District, 4871 US 322, Franklin, PA 16323 *THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR BACKYARD CONSERVATION WORKSHOP. WE HAVE REACHED CAPACITY AND REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. Please sign up for email reminders of our future events below. The Venango Conservation District is hosting a Backyard Conservation Workshop to provide a fun and educational day learning about conservation practices that can be implemented in your own backyard! The event will take place at the Venango Conservation District office on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 9:00am to 1:30pm. The Venango Conservation District is located at 4871 US 322, Franklin, PA 16323. The workshop will be divided into two sessions. The detailed agenda can be found at the link below. First Session*: The first session (9:00am to 10:00am) will be adult-centric and will focus on nonpoint source pollution, rain barrel usage, and rain barrel construction. The first 20 households to register will receive a discounted rain barrel at $10.00 (a $69 value!). Please note that you must attend Session #1 to receive a discounted rain barrel. Second Session: The second session (10:30am to 1:30pm) will be family-centric and will feature rotating activity stations that include topics and activities on invasive species, backyard wildlife, and stream life. There will be time in between the stations for participants to tour the Mobile Environmental Display trailer and our vendor tables. This event is free and open to the public. Board of Directors Meetings
The Venango Conservation District Board of Directors meet the second Thursday of each month at 7:00pm in the conference room of the district office. Advisory committee meetings may also be scheduled one hour before the regularly scheduled board meeting (they will be listed on our home page if scheduled). These meetings are open to the public. Please call by the day before the meeting to confirm your attendance. Meeting agendas will be posted here and on our website home page. The following dates are scheduled for 2026 board meetings: January 8th - agenda February 12th - agenda March 12th - agenda April 9th - agenda May 14th - agenda June 11th - agenda July 9th - agenda August 13th - agenda September 10th - agenda October 8th - agenda November 12th - agenda December 10th - agenda All board of directors' meetings and committee meetings are also streamed live over Microsoft Teams.
